Are you confident you will be able to vote in the East Surrey Council election on 7th May 2026?

As not every Buckland resident is currently on the electoral roll, please consider whether you might be one of the residents who has yet to register. If you know you are not on the electoral roll you will need to register before midnight on Monday 20th April 2026. Register to vote via this link.  If you do not know whether you are on the electoral roll you can check by calling the MVDC Elections team on 01306 879198.

If you wish to vote in person at a polling station on Thursday 7th May 2026 you will need to bring an accepted form of photo ID. These include a passport, driving licence or concessionary travel pass. You can use an expired ID provided it has sufficient photographic likeness to allow the election staff to recognise you. 

If you are on the electoral roll and are aware you do not currently have an eligible photo ID, you will need to apply for a free voter ID document, known as a Voter Authority Certificate (VAC), in order, to exercise your right to vote in person at a polling station.  The application deadline for a VAC is 5pm on Tuesday 28th April 2026.  To apply for a VAC follow this link.

If you will be unable to go to your polling station on Thursday 7th May 2026, or would prefer a postal or proxy vote, the application deadlines are 5pm on Tuesday 21st April 2026 for a postal vote and 5pm on Tuesday 28th April 2026 for a proxy vote.
