Are you confident you will be able to vote in the East Surrey Council election on 7th May 2026?

If you wish to vote in person at a polling station on Thursday 7th May 2026 you will need to bring an accepted form of photo ID. These include a passport, driving licence or concessionary travel pass. You can use an expired ID provided it has sufficient photographic likeness to allow the election staff to recognise you.

If you are on the electoral roll and are aware you do not currently have an eligible photo ID, you will need to apply for a free voter ID document, known as a Voter Authority Certificate (VAC), in order, to exercise your right to vote in person at a polling station.  The application deadline for a VAC is 5pm on Tuesday 28th April 2026.  To apply for a VAC follow this link.

If you will be unable to go to your polling station on Thursday 7th May 2026 you still have time to opt for a proxy vote, the application deadline is 5pm on Tuesday 28th April 2026.

Here are the links to Apply for a one-off proxy vote or Apply for a permanent proxy vote.
