NHS – Safeguard your GP registration.

Patients may be unaware that NHS England (NHSE), every now and then, completes a list cleanse which means they remove patients from the NHSE clinical system who appear to be inactive.

This can be triggered by someone not responding to a screening programmes, receiving clinical correspondence back via the Rouyla Mail that was sent to a residential address or if there appears to be no activity within a patient’s medical record for some time i.e. no appointments, no medication.

In each of these circumstances, before removing a patient, NHSE will try to contact the patient and ask them to respond. If there is no response from the patient NHSE will remove the patient from the clinical system.

This “list cleanse” is not carried out by your GP Practice – it is completed by NHSE or Primary Care Support England (PCSE).

NHSE is currently undergoing an extensive list cleanse.

If you receive a notification from either NHSE or PCSE please ensure a response is issued otherwise the next time you need to see a GP you will need to re-register. Please make sure your family members, friends and neighbours understand the need to respond to such a notification.
